Devlog 1: I have an idea (wow, first one!)

So, I've been sitting on this idea for a while now. It's called FRAGMENT. I'm still just pieceing the basics together, but I figured I'd start a little devlog here on Blogger to keep track of the world-building as I go. It's basically a post-collapse wasteland, but not the usual desert and leather jacket kind. This place is more like a giant, crashing computer program that's turned physical.

The main thing you gotta know about is the Null. It's this nasty black goop filled with these sharp, white crystalline shards. It's everywhere. It's like a digital parasite that doesn't just break things, it overwrites them. If it touches a piece of metal or a person, it starts rewriting their code into something glitched out and messy.

There's this guy I'm working on named Minus. He's one of the big shots in the Null Hierarchy, which is basically the group of people who've embraced the infection instead of fighting it. Minus is interesting because even though he's high-ranking, he's not totally consumed by the goop yet. He's still got enough of his old self left to realize the world is basically one big terminal error away from being deleted by something called Anomaly.

I'm trying to make the factions feel real, like they all have a point even if they're being jerks about it. You've got ANCHOR, who are these total control freaks in gold and white suits who want to bleach the world clean. Then there's ECO, a group of hackers and scientists who found these weird green glowing vines called Hyasynth. They think the vines are like the world's natural recovery files trying to fix the Null.

It's all pretty rough right now, just a bunch of sketches and notes about "glitch-tech" aesthetics and high-contrast colors. I'm going for something that feels a bit like Murder Drones but with more of a focus on this five-way cold war over who gets to control the literal fabric of reality. I'll probably post more about the different types of Null next time, since I've been thinking about how different groups try to refine it into fuel or armor.

Anyway, thanks for checking this out. It's just me in my room trying to build a universe, so don't expect anything too polished yet.
