Devlog 6: Almost a week in
It's been almost a week of doing this every morning at 8:30 AM, and I'm still mostly just talking to myself. I haven't really gotten any traction yet, but honestly, that’s fine. It's almost better this way because I can just focus on the work without feeling like I have to perform for a huge crowd. If it's just me and a couple of bots reading this, at least it's getting documented.
I've finally pushed past that wall from the last couple of days. I went back to the Master Design Doc and started looking at the actual hierarchy of the Null-Bonded. It's not just a random mess of infected people; there's a literal tier system to how much the Null has rewritten someone.
I was sketching out some ideas for the higher tiers today. There's this concept of the Blight tier where the person is just... constantly sharding apart and reforming. It's like their silhouette won't stay still. I want it to look like a jagged, white eruption of crystals that's always in motion. It's the total opposite of the Breach tier, which I'm picturing as this matte grey, perfectly still version of the Null. It’s weirdly quiet and modest compared to the explosions of the other types, but it feels way more dangerous because it's so stable.
Minus is still the anchor point for me. He’s the one who’s actually aware that every single faction—from the gold-suited freaks at ANCHOR to the plant-loving hackers at ECO—is missing the point. Everyone thinks they've got the answer to the "system error," but they’re all just looking at one piece of a broken mirror. Minus is just a fragment of a soldier trying to hold his own pieces together.
I’m starting to get a better handle on the rogue spy character I mentioned before, too. She’s from ECO, but she’s not just some keyboard warrior. She’s the one who’s going to force Minus to actually look at the "defragmentation" side of things. It’s a cool dynamic because they both technically should hate each other based on their factions, but they're the only ones who see the terminal error coming.
Anyway, no big viral moment today, just more work. I'm going to keep grinding on these tiers and see if I can make the visual difference between a Tier 2 and a Tier 5 feel as massive as it does in my head. Catch you guys tomorrow.
